ABOUT US

We are a civil engineering and land surveying consulting firm located in Pepperell and Dracut Massachusetts. We are licensed to practice in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine.

We specialize in land development type projects of any size and complexity.

We are registered Professional Civil Engineers (P.E.), Professional Land Surveyors (P.L.S), Soil Evaluators (S.E.), and Construction Supervisors (C.S.).

We assist in obtaining permits from all boards, commissions and other regulatory authorities. Our clients range from homeowners to private companies, government agencies and peers. We have been providing these services to our clients for over 30 years.

The principles of our company are John A. Visniewski and David J. DeBay.

John A. Visniewski

Jack Visniewski holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, at Amherst. He is a registered Professional Civil Engineer in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine, a certified Soil Evaluator in Massachusetts, and a licensed Construction Supervisor in Massachusetts. Mr. Visniewski has over 30 years of experience in the design and construction of land development projects.

Mr. Visniewski started his first business in 1976 designing and building residential and small commercial buildings while working towards professional registration. In 1979 after obtaining his registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in Massachusetts he incorporated his design/build firm, J. A. Visniewski, Inc., and expanded to include engineering services.

In 1984 the engineering and design/build functions were separated with the formation of Visniewski Engineering Associates, Inc. Then in 1986 a second firm was purchased in order to expand the civil engineering functions and add land surveying capabilities. These combined companies had a staff of up to 65 employees and designed many residential, commercial and industrial sites.

In 2004 Mr. Visniewski joined forces with David DeBay to form Cornerstone Land Consultants, Inc.

David J. DeBay

David DeBay holds a degree in Land Surveying from Miami-Dade College, at Miami Florida. Mr. DeBay began his college studies as a Business Administration major at Salem State College and later transferred to the Civil Engineering program at Lowell Technology Institute. He began his professional career as a Land Surveyor in 1978 prior to returning to college and completing his studies.

Mr. DeBay has over 30 years of experience in field and office surveying. Experience includes work at town, state and private companies with localized and national project exposure in addition to being a managing principal with several companies. He has maintained continued education and certifications related to his practice.

Professional registrations and certifications include that of Massachusetts, Maine, & New Hampshire as Professional Land Surveyor with completed training as Massachusetts Soil Evaluator, Title 5 Inspector, U.S. Army Corp. of Engineer wetland delineator, OSHA Hazardous, (Hazzwhopper), and S.C.U.B.A. Diver.

Mr. DeBay has been very active in the community while having served on the town planning board and as a coach for many team sports and scouting groups.
